The 13-year-old kid was sitting at his desk working on his homework, grumbling to himself about the day's injustices. A portal of pure light opened, and a tall woman with a warm smile stepped out of it.

"What is happening?" he asked.

"I don't have much time," the woman said, "but I know how tough things are for you right now, so I wanted to come and give you some encouragement; things won't be like this forever, so don't be so hard on yourself. the things you want are not as insane as you think."

The boy stared at her dumbfounded. "I don't understand what you're talking about."

"That's okay; you'll figure it out soon enough."

She grabbed his phone and unlocked it using the fingerprint sensor. She scrolled through his pictures until she found an old photo of him making a silly face at a girl with straight brown hair and thick glasses.

"Keep her close; she will prove to be indispensable in the years to come." With that, she laid a hand on his shoulder, gave him another warm smile, and then disappeared.
